Island Clinical Counselling Opens July 1

If you have been looking for counselling in Campbell River, we have exciting news.

Island Clinical Counselling is expanding to Campbell River on July 1, making it easier for individuals, couples, families, children, and youth to access professional mental health support close to home. Our new office is located at 625 11th Avenue in the heart of Campbell River and will offer in-person counselling services alongside our existing virtual therapy options available across British Columbia.

As Vancouver Island continues to grow, many communities are experiencing increased demand for accessible mental health services. Whether you are struggling with anxiety, depression, stress, burnout, relationship challenges, grief, trauma, or life transitions, finding the right counsellor can make a meaningful difference.

Bringing Mental Health Support Closer to Campbell River

For four years, Island Clinical Counselling has supported clients throughout Vancouver Island with offices in Nanaimo. We have since opened offices in Duncan, Parksville, Port Alberni, and the Comox Valley, and we serve those across British Columbia virtually. The addition of our Campbell River location reflects our ongoing commitment to making counselling more accessible for individuals and families in northern Vancouver Island communities.

Many people delay seeking help because of long travel times, busy schedules, or uncertainty about where to start. By opening a dedicated Campbell River office, we hope to reduce barriers and provide a welcoming space where people can feel safe, heard, and supported.

Why People Seek Counselling

People begin counselling for many different reasons. Some come during a crisis, while others seek support as they work toward personal goals.

Common reasons people seek therapy include:

  • Anxiety and excessive worry
  • Depression and low mood
  • Relationship and family concerns
  • Stress and burnout
  • Grief and loss
  • Trauma recovery
  • Parenting challenges
  • Child and youth mental health
  • Life transitions and identity exploration
  • Building confidence and self-esteem

Counselling is not only for times of crisis. Many people use therapy proactively to improve relationships, strengthen coping skills, and increase self-understanding.

What to Expect When You Reach Out

Starting therapy can feel intimidating, especially if it is your first time. Our goal is to make the process as simple and comfortable as possible.

Our administrative team can help answer questions, discuss availability, and connect you with a therapist who matches your goals and preferences. We also offer a free matching questionnaire to help clients find the best fit within our team.
