Join Lisa Conway, PhD, ABPP; Jason Yu; Pam Katz, LCSW; and Kathryn Atkinson, MA, RCC-ACS for an interactive professional training focused on the assessment and evidence-based treatment of Body-Focused Repetitive Behaviours (BFRBs), including hair pulling, skin picking, nail biting, and cheek biting.
This intermediate-level training will introduce clinicians to the clinical presentation, assessment, and conceptualization of BFRBs and explore evidence-based approaches including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), the Comprehensive Behavioral Model (ComB), Habit Reversal Training (HRT), and Motivational Interviewing (MI).
The day will also address treatment modifications for children and adolescents, cultural considerations, treatment setbacks, relapse awareness and prevention, and strategies for translating assessment into individualized treatment. Experiential activities, role-plays, small-group discussions, and lived-experience perspectives will help participants apply the material to clinical practice.

Join Lisa Conway, PhD, ABPP; Jason Yu of Fidget Podcast; Pam Katz, MSW, LCSW; and Kathryn Atkinson, MA, RCC-ACS for an advanced training focused on deepening clinical work with Body-Focused Repetitive Behaviours (BFRBs).
Building on foundational BFRB knowledge, this Level 2 training will explore some of the more complex challenges clinicians encounter in practice, including comorbidities such as OCD, ADHD, tic disorders, intellectual disability, and autism; treatment roadblocks; clinical assessment and self-monitoring; managing client and therapist expectations; microaggressions and ethical considerations; and recognizing and repairing clinical ruptures.
The training is designed for clinicians who have begun working with clients experiencing BFRBs, as well as more experienced BFRB clinicians looking to broaden their knowledge and strengthen their clinical approach.
